| “Founder, Sports For Unique Athletes (S4UA) Pooja Mehra is the founder of Sports For Unique Athletes (S4UA)—an initiative rooted in her belief that sport can be a powerful equaliser, especially for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. By profession, Pooja is an education counsellor and a mother of two grown-up children. Over the last 7 years, she has devoted herself to working at the intersection of disability, education, and fitness. Her work through S4UA is built on the understanding that sport is not just about physical activity—it’s a tool for life. For children with special needs, structured movement and strength training can significantly improve motor skills, coordination, and focus. But beyond that, it builds discipline, boosts self-esteem, and gives these children a sense of identity and pride.” |
